Description
Located in northwestern Ohio along the boundary with Indiana, 72 km (45 mi) southwest of Toledo; County Seat: Defiance.
History
Established in 1845; in a remote location, this county saw numerous battles during the Indian Wars. Its people were known to have "defied" the local Indians. Fort Defiance was located here. (OH-T801/p276)
