Description
Located in eastern Ohio along the bournary with West Virginia, 72 km (45 mi) southest of Canton; County Seat: Saint Clairsville.
History
Established on 7 September 1801. "Belmont" translates to "beautiful mountain" in french, and was likely named for the picturesque views from above the Ohio River. (OH-T801/p275)
