Description
Located along Cover Creek in western Watauga County, 11.3 km (7 mi) northwest of Boone.
History
Settled in 1870 and named McBrides Mill for A J McBride, the first Postmaster of the community. The name was later changed to honor Amantha Combs, a local resident. (NC-T11/p19)
