Description
Located in southern North Carolina along the boundary with South Carolina, 69 km (43 mi) southwest of Fayetteville; County Seat: Laurinburg.
History
Formed in 1899 from Richmond County; named for Scotland in the British Isles from which many of the settlers originated from. (NC-T11/p428)
