Description
Located in northeast North Carolina; County Seat: Elizabeth City.
History
Formed in 1668 as a precinct in Albemarle County. The word "pasquotank" is believed to originate from the Indian term "pask-e'tan-ki" for "where the current divides or forks." (NC-T11/p373)
