Description
Located in eastern North Caroina, and bounded by the Pamlico Sound, 232 km (144 mi) east southeast of Raleigh; County Seat: Bayboro.
History
Formed in 1872 from Craven and Beaufort Counties; named for the Pamlico Sound, which was named for the Pamlico Indian. (NC-T11/p370)
