Description
Located in north central North Carolina, 40 km (25 mi) west of Greensboro; County Seat: Winston-Salem.
History
Formed in 1849 from Stokes County; named in honor of Colonel Benjamin Forsythe (ca 1760-1814), a Stokes County native who was killed in the War of 1812. (NC-T11/p12)
