Description
Located in northern Durham County, 21 km (13 mi) north of Durham.
History
Settled about 1880 and named Balltown. Current name (pronounced ba-hay-ma) is derived from the first two letters of 3 prominent local families: Ball, Harris, and Magnum. (NC-T11/p19)
