Description
Located in northeastern North Carolina along teh Atlantic Ocean and the boundary with Virginia, just south of Virginia Beach, Virginia; County Seat: Currituck.
History
Formed in 1668; "currituck" is reportedly a corruption of "coratank", an Indian word for "wild geese". (NC-T11/p131)
