Description
Located in southern Buncombe County, 16 km (10 mi) south southeast of Asheville.
History
Settled in 1840 as Shufordsville; incorporated in 1883. The community name was changed to Arden after the "Forest of Arden" in Shakespeare's "As You Like It". (NC-T11/p13)
