Description
Located in the Town of Lake Pleasant, 3.2 km (2 mi) SW of the community of Lake Pleasant, 1 km (0.6 mi) NE of Airdwood Lake, 2.4 km (1.5 mi) SSE of Fish Mountain, in Adirondack State Park.
History
A proposal to change the name Mount Francisco to Winchells Mount was submitted in December 1999. In January 2001, the proposal was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN).
