History
Named Mount Discovery on maps since 1813 and on USGS topographic maps since 1895. Renamed by the Town of Lewis in 1916 for Inez Milholland Boissevain (1886-1916), lawyer, feminist, and suffragist. No proposal was submitted to the U.S. BGN at the time. The name was changed by the U.S. BGN in 2019, thus making it offical for Federal use, in recognition of the 100th anniversary in August 2020 of the passage of the 19th Amendment.
