Located in Ruby Lake Valley, just S of the headquarters of the Ruby Lake NWR.
History
Named for Ruby Lake which was reportedly named by a group of prospectors in the late 1840s and 1850s for red garnets, commonly referred to as ruby garnets, which they found in the area (NV-T302/p206).
