Description
Located in the Platte Valley, about 4.8 km (3 mi) southwest and across the North Platte River from the community of Scottsbluff. County Seat: Gering.
History
Named for the nearby physical feature of Scotts Bluff, which was named for Hiram Scott, an early pioneer who died at the base of this feature. Formed from Cheyene County on 6 November 1888. (NE-T18/p128)
