Located in southern Nebraska along the boundary with Kansas, 129 km (80 mi) southwest of Lexington; County Seat: Trenton.
History
Named for Phineas warrener Hitchcock (1831-1881), U.S. Senator from Nebraska whent he County was established in 1873. Boundaries were established on 27 February 1873. (NE-T18/p73)
