Description
Hamilton County is located just east of the community of Grand Island and 60 miles west of Lincoln; County Seat: Aurora.
History
Named for Alexander Hamilton (1757-1804), American Statesman who served as President George Washington's Secretary of the Treasury. Hamilton County was established and boundaries defined on 16 February 1867. (Nebraska Place-Names, JT Link, 1960, p70)
