Description
Located in south central Nebraska, 142 km (88 mi) west of Lincoln; County Seat: Grand Island.
History
Named for Augustus Hall (1814-1861), Chief Justice of the Nebraska Territory in 1858 and former Congressman from Iowa. Organized with boundaries defined on 4 November 1858, redefined on 1 February 1864 and again on 1 March 1871. (NE-T18/p69
