Description
Located in south central Nebraska along the boundary with Kansas, 129 km (80 mi) southeast of North Platte; County Seat: Beaver City.
History
Named for Robert W Furnas (1824-1905), Governor of Nebraska from 1873-1875. Organized and approved by the Legislature on 27 February 1873. (NE-T18/p62)
