Located in east-central Nebraska, 77 km (48 mi) northwest of Lincoln. County Seat: Schuyler.
History
Named for Schuyler Colfax who was serving as Vice-President of the United States when this County was established established on 15 February 1869. Formed from a portion of Platte County. Boundaries redefined on 3 March 1873; taken from Platte County and named for Schuyler Colfax, Vice-President of the United States in 1869. (NE-T18/p44)
