Located in southwestern Nebraska, 105 km (65 mi) SW of North Platte. County Seat: Imperial.
History
Named for Champion S Chase, former Mayor of Omaha and Nebraska's first Attorney General. Chase County was organized in 1886 and established by an act of the Legislature on 27 February 1873. (US-T131/1960/NE Placenames,p35)
