Description
Heads in Big Muddy Lake in Saskatchewan, Canada, flows generally S 56 km (35 mi), then E 40 km (25 mi), then S 89 km (55 mi) to join the Missouri River, 6.4 km (4 mi) W of Culbertson.
History
A proposal to change the name Big Muddy Creek to Marthas River was submitted in December 1998. In March 2000, the proposal was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN).
