History
Loosley translated from the language of the Salish Indians, the word "wakina" reportedly means "red sky in the morning." The name Wakina Sky was given to an injured female eagle that was nursed back to health and eventually set free by members of the Helena Indian Alliance. This name has come to symbolize strength, courage, and "the ability to soar high."
