Description
Located 0.3 km (0.2 mi) northwest of the mouth of Mill Gulch, overlooking Rock Creek, 24 km (15 mi) west of Philipsburg on land administered by the Bureau of Land Management.
History
Named for Doctor Philip L Wright (1914-1997), noted ornithologist, mammologist, and zoologist. A simultaneous proposal to change the name to Eagle Rock was submitted however, the name was rejected by the USBGN on November 13, 2003.
