Description
Located in the Missouri River, 0.8 km (0.5 mi) NE of Holker and 4.8 km (3 mi) SSE of Townsend.
History
Named for York (born ca 1770-?), William Clark's slave and a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803-05. After being granted his freedom sometime after 1811, York operated a freight business in Kentucky and Tennessee.
