Description

Located along the Continental Divide, 1.6 km (1 mi) SE of Monument Peak, 3.1 km (1.9 mi) NW of Center Mountain.

History

Named for the Shoshoni Indian woman who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their 1805-06 Expedition. Two proposals to name this summit were submitted and considered by the United States Board on Geographic Names (U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN)). The USBGN rejected the name Skmcine Mqmoq (diacritical marks omitted) in favor of Sacajawea Peaks.
