Description
Two small mountains in the center part of Benton Township, near Piedmont, named for H.H. Finley, who owned land here before the Civil War. Finley was a doctor and tried to open a health resort, but was unsuccessful. One of the mountains was formerly called Bunyard Mountain for John Bunyard, and elderly gunsmith, who lived here before the Civil War. (Wilkinson, Evans) (Pottenger) Source: Hamlett, Mayme L.
