Located approximately 169 km (105 mi) south of St Louis.
History
This site was originally settled around 1800 by a group of Creole Indians who constructed several log homes and established a settlement they named St Michael. In 1818 Madison County was formed and Fredericktown was declared the County Seat and gradually expanded ot include St Michael. (US-T125/MO/p530)
