Lost Hill Island is located located within Pomme De Terre Lake, 305 m (1000 ft) NE of Indian Point and 5.1 km (3.2 mi) S of Hermitage.
History
A "lost hill" is one which has lost its connection to the neighboring hills; Lost Hill Island was formed when the Pomme De Terre River was inundated and eroded the NW side of a narrow ridge, and at the same time, Lindley Creek eroded the SE side of the ridge.
