History
A proposal to change the name Deusch Lake to Holt Lake was submitted in May 1990; on 9 April 1992, the USBGN did not approved the proposal based on several factors, most importantly, the Minnesota Statute which states that "no name of any lake . . . whichg name has existed for forty years, shall be changed." (sections 378.01 through 378.06)
