History

The stream is reportedly named for Frank Flower, who homesteaded in the area in 1891. A proposal to change the name of Flowers Creek to Pollard Creek was not approved by the BGN in May 2018. The name Pollard Creek refers to George Pollard (ca.1849-1899) and his wife Annie (1849-1935), members of a family that has lived in the community for six generations.
