Description
Located 14 mi W of Fitchburg (US-T121).
History
It was settled in 1751 and incorporated as a town in 1762. Named in honor of John Temple (1731-1798), who represented the American branch of the family of Richard Grenville (1711-1779), Earl Temple. Before 1762, it was the plantation called Narragansett Number Six (MA-T1/p45).
