Description
Located 27 mi NW of Worcester (US-T121?M).
History
It was settled in 1737 and incorporated as a town in 1739. Probably named after Philip York (1690-1764), Lord Hardwick, of the British Privy Council and Chief Justice of the Kings Bench. Before incorporation the settlement was known as the plantation called Lambstown, for its proprietor, Joshua Lamb (MA-T1/p23).
