Description
Located 8 mi SE of Worcester; Worcester County (US-T121).
History
It was settled in 1660 and incorporated as a town in 1886. Probably derived its name from 'The Dale,' name of the Jones farm, with 'Hope' prefixed to signify high aspirations (MA-T1/p24).
