Description
Located 12 mi SW of Worcester; Worcester County (US-T121).
History
It was settled in 1735 and incorporated as a town in 1775. Named in honor of Sir Francis Charlton, a member of English Privy Council at the time of incorporation as a district, 1755 (MA-T1/p13).
