Description
Located on Massachusetts Bay, 17 mi N of Plymouth; Plymouth County (US-T121).
History
Settled about 1630, incorporated as a town in 1633. Scituate is an Indian word derived from 'satuit,' meaning 'cold brook,' applied to a small stream running into the harbor (MA-T1/p41).
