Description
Located 12 mi SE of Boston; Plymouth County (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1633, incorporated as a town in 1635. Named for Hingham, Norfolk County, England, home of many of the settlers. Before 1635, it was common land called Barecove (MA-T1/p24).
