Description
Located 14 mi SW of Boston (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1678, incorporated as a town in 1872. May have been named for a town in England although local tradition says that the name was selected from a list. The list was submitted by a man who found there was only one other Norwood in the US. To him, it looked well in print, had a pleasing sound, was easy to write, and had no 'i' to dot or 't' to cross (MA-T1/p35).
