History
Boggastow is an Indian word meaning "runs out in meadow" (MGB, 1932); Boggastow was the Natick Indian name for the Charles River Valley and lands N and W of it from Natick to Medway Village. First mention of Boggastow in the Dedham records is in 1640, when Edward Alleyne received as an acknowledgement of his public services a grant of land "to lie in or about that place called Boggastow" (Board on Geographic Names (BGN) files).
