Description
Located 14 mi SW of Boston (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1718, incorporated as a town in 1781. Retained the Indian word for 'a place of hills.' The town orginally was an Indian plantation (MA-T1/p32). The Indian name meant 'end of hill range' or possibly 'a clear place' or 'the place of (our) search' (US-T121).
