Located 7 mi N of Boston (US-T121).
History
Settled about 1629, incorporated as a town in 1850, and as a city in 1899. Probably named for a borough in Scotland although local sources say name is a compound of the Latin word for honey and the rose. The natural beauty of the place suggested this combination (MA-T1/p30).
