Description
Located 15 mi SE of Worcester (US-T121).
History
Settled about 1715, incorporated as a town in 1715. Named for Edward Hopkins (1600-1657), governor of CT in the middle of the 17th century, whose will provided money for the purchase of the land from the Indians. It was formed from certain common lands and the plantation called Moguncoy (MA-T24).
