Description
Located 14 mi NE of Worcester and 24 mi W of Boston; Middlesex County (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1657, incorporated as a town in 1660, and as a city in 1890. Probably named for Marlborough in Wiltshire, England, the former home of some of the settlers (MA-T1/p29).
