Description
Located in Berkshire Hills, 18 mi SW of Greenfield; Hampshire County (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1762, incorporated as a town in 1779. Named for Colonel John Cummings who returned from Indian captivity in 1762 and became a proprietor of Township Number 5, of which Cumminton was a part (MA-T1/p15).
