Description
Heads at the junction of its East and West Branches,flows SW for 35.4 miles to join the Quaboag River to form the Chicopee River at Three Rivers; Towns of Palmer, Ware, Hardwick, New Braintree, Barre and Oakham.

Named for early fish weirs (locally pronounced).
