Description
Located 14 mi NE of Springfield (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1727, incorporated as a town in 1775. Named in honor of Chief Justice Palmer (1781-1860), of CT. Before 1752, it was the plantation called the Elbow. It was also referred to as the New Marlborough and as Kingsfield (MA-T1/p36).
