Description
Located 20 mi E of Springfield (US-T121).
History
Settled about 1706, incorporated as a town in 1731. Probably named for Brimfield, Hereford County, England, the home of some of the early settlers. The name could have been derived from the natural setting of the town, around which hills form the brim of a bowl (MA-T1/p11).
