Located in Berkshire Hills; 14 mi W of Springfield; Hampden County (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1782, incorporated as a town in 1792. Named for a Mr. Russell of Boston upon his agreeing to donate a bell for the first church erected by the inhabitants (US-T1/p40).
