Description
Located at the junction of NH-VT boundary, 11 mi NE of Greenfield (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1673, incorporated as a town in 1723. So named because it was the most northerly town on the Connecticut River at the time of its founding. Before incorporation, it was known as the plantation of Squakeag (MA-T1/p35).
