Description
Located on NH-MA boundary, 16 mi NW of Gloucester; Essex County (US-T121).
History
Settled 1638, incorporated as a town in 1640. Named for Salisbury, Wiltshire, England; from which many settlers came. Before 1640, it was common land called Colechester (MA-T1/p41).
