Located on the N coast of Martha's Vineyard at the NE end of Vineyard Sound (US-T121).
History
Settled in 1660 and incorporated in 1671 as the town of Middletown (by the goverment of NY). Renamed Tisbury, in 1671, by Thomas Mayhew (1593-1682), first governor of Plymouth County under the Massachusetts Charter, for the town of Tisbury, Wiltshire County, England (MA-T1).
